What is Chiropractic?
Chiropractic is a natural method of
health care that focuses on the causes of physical problems, rather than
just the symptoms. Chiropractic is based on a simple yet powerful
premise. With a normally functioning spine and nervous system, your body
is better able to heal itself. this is because the spinal cord, which is
protected by the spine, is the main pathway of your nervous system. It
controls feeling, movement, and function throughout your body. A
chiropractor is highly trained and educated to detect and correct areas
of your spine which are correlated to your condition. Dr. Donohue will
utilize various chiropractic techniques to restore proper motion to the
spine, relieving irritation of nerves and muscles.
Phases of Care...
There are three phases of care in the
correction of a misaligned vertebra, known as a "subluxation." All three
are addressed in our office. Initial intensive care is designed to get
you out of pain and start you on the path to spinal correction.
Rehabilitative care is designed to strengthen the structures supporting
your spine. Preventive care is designed to prevent subluxations from
returning, once overall health has been re-established.
Conditions Resulting from
Spinal Subluxations...
